+## What Happened
+
+Human visual verification of the portal shell. User tested in browser at `http://localhost:3000`.
+
+## Findings & Fixes
+
+1. **Initial load showed placeholder** — Docker container had stale build from Wave 1. Fixed by rebuilding web container.
+2. **Traefik removed** — User requested direct port exposure instead of reverse proxy. Web on `:3000`, API on `:3001`.
+3. **Dark mode too dark** — Background lightened from `oklch(0.17)` to `oklch(0.23)`, cards from `0.21` to `0.27`, sidebar from `0.14` to `0.20`.
+4. **Sidebar accent color in light mode** — Was yellow (#ffed00) for text/icons, changed to dark gray for readability. `sidebar-accent-foreground` changed from yellow to `oklch(0.25 0 0)`.
+5. **Locale switcher moved** — Removed from header, added to sidebar footer (user preference: language belongs in settings area, not header).

+- Language: DE/EN switching works (now in sidebar) ✓
